Absence
Absence/Illness
When your child is absent, please notify us, initially by telephone (01825 762827) and press 1 for absences or e-mail (office@rockspark.e-sussex.sch.uk) on each day of absence before 9.15am stating the reason for the absence. If we have not received any notification of absence by 9.15am we will try to contact you by telephone. However, we must stress that whilst we will do everything reasonable to establish the whereabouts of your child it is primarily the parent or carers’ responsibility to inform the school about absence.
Persistent unexplained absence or lateness is followed up by the Education, Behaviour and Attendance Service.
If your child is well enough to come to school, but has an infection that could be passed on, such as a cold sore or head lice, please let us know.
Use this NHS guide to see what illnesses may require you to keep you child away from school under normal circumstances.

We respectfully remind you that if your child has been absent due to diarrhoea and/or vomiting, they should not return to school until 48 hours from the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting.
Is my child too ill for school? It can be tricky deciding whether or not to keep your child off school when they're unwell. There are government guidelines: https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-body/is-my-child-too-ill-for-school/
