Computing

At Rocks Park we believe that children should receive a high quality computing education in line with the National Curriculum. Computing covers many skills and platforms including programmable robots and devices, tablets and recording devices such as digital microphones, cameras and video cameras and teaching children to be safe and how to behave appropriately online. At the core of computing is computer science, in which pupils are taught the principles of information and computation, how digital systems work, and how to put this knowledge to use through programming (coding).

By teaching children to understand and apply the fundamental principles of computer science, to analyse problems in computational terms and to be responsible, competent and creative users of information and communication technology we are aiming to ensure that pupils become digitally literate.
